Rodrigo Paidano Alves

Rodrigo is an indigenous biologist and researcher, with a master's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pampa (Brazil) and in European Studies from the University of Graz (Austria). He is currently a PhD candidate in Molecular Sciences and Biotechnology at the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) and a graduate of the Climate Solutions and Strategies program at the University of Oxford.
For over 15 years she has worked on national and international projects related to climate change, environmental microbiology, socio-environmental governance, climate justice, indigenous peoples and scientific dissemination. She has participated in research on the impacts of climate change in the Amazon, Antarctica, the Alpine regions, Namibia and South Africa, and on the effects of these changes on indigenous peoples and minorities in Europe. He has worked on initiatives linked to the Brazilian Antarctic Program (PROANTAR), the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA), the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry (Germany), the University of Graz and the Graz University of Technology (Austria). He is the author of more than 30 scientific publications and has participated in more than 50 national and international events.
He has experience in field research, methodological development, data analysis, technical report writing, interdisciplinary analysis and articulation between science, territorial and environmental rights of indigenous peoples, local communities and minorities.
